Finding Reiki

I recently went on a search to find a way to help connect with myself and find peace.  Of course everyone knows about yoga and meditation, but few people that I know have heard of reiki (pronounced ray-key). Reiki came into my life as I was making huge changes.  I recently relocated and moved with my 2 small children.  We all had to get used to a new routine and my oldest son had to start a new school. I am so thankful he is an outgoing kid. We moved to a house that is surrounded by trees and nature.  We have 2 cats, a dog, 3 fish and about 25 chickens now. Where as before we had no animals.  So a totally new atmosphere as well. But we all love it!

So back to my point, reiki came to me when I needed it the most.  I had seen something on a popular social media outlet about learning reiki and how to use it to help heal myself and others.  Reiki is a Japenese energy healing technique using your hands to channel energy into a reciepient.  The energy is already in all of us we just have to learn how to use it. Rei translates to "Higher power" and Ki translates to "life force energy".  If you Google Reiki the definition you will get is "a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being."

I just finished my Level 1 reiki program and am currently studying for level 2.  There are 3 levels to learning reiki and the 3rd level is the Master level which allows you to teach reiki to others, which is my goal.  I am taking these classes online through Udemey.  They offer so many great online courses at affordable prices. (I googled Udemy coupon to get a HUGE discount on the reiki courses.)  I would love to have the opportunity to learn hands on with a reiki teacher but like I said earlier I have 2 small children and am now a single parent so making time for myself is hard these days.  The Udemy course is so in depth and easy to follow that I am so glad I decided to join the class.

I am waiting on my attunment to be able to channel the energy from the universe and use reiki to it's full potential.  The attunment is done by the reiki master.  They channel the energy through you to ground you and release the energy within.

If you are interested in learning more about Reiki I would advice you to google Reiki or if you are interested in taking the online course sign up at Udemy.com

Bug Season

Well it's that time of year again.  Bug season is upon us.

I love the warm weather but with it comes those pesky little demons, they are everywhere!

I absolutely hate going outside and getting eatten up by mosquitoes and other annoying bugs so I decided to try using my essential oils to help keep them away.

You to can be bug free with this simple recipe. Just combine all of the ingredeints and spray as much or little as you like on yourself and your loved ones before departing outside.

Bugs hate peppermint oil and will avoid it at all costs.  Especially spiders, which are one of my biggest phobias.  Don't judge me.  So you can also spray this concoction around your doors and windows to prevent them from entering the house.

I hope this homemade bug be gone works for you.  It is an alternative to all of those chemical infused bug sprays that you buy at the stores.

Enjoy your bug free outing!

My New Favorite Oil

If you are anything like me then you get stressed out on a daily basis.  I have discovered a way to help ease my tension and calm my behind down when I start to feel overwhelmed or stressed.  The answer is obvioulsy Stress Away!

The first time I ordered my starter kit I was a dummy and didn't get the Everyday Oils but my kit came with Stress Away.  I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of the scent at first but I know now that it was because I was using way to much of it.  I then started using it very lightly on my wrists.  Throughout the day I would catch a scent of the Stress Away and the smell would instantly calm me.

I now use Stress Away daily and even diffuse it to help my whole family be stress free!  Stress Away is now included in the Everyday Oils kit and I am now blessed with 2 bottles of this lovely oil.  Yay me!  It is my absolute favorite, at the moment.  I am still trying all of the oils that came in my Everyday Oils kit when I purchased my second starter kit to get another diffuser for my living room.  I purchased the Bamboo Diffuser this time.  It comes with a 1 hour or 4 hour timer.  The starter kit comes with the option to choose either the Home Diffuser or the Bamboo diffuser.  I really love them both, but what I like more about the Bamboo diffuser is that you can change how long the timer is set where as the home diffuser is just on set time and cuts off when the water runs out.

If you would like to purchase either of these diffusers or sign up to become a YL member then click on the tab at the top that says Essential Oils for more information on how to get started.

Thank you all and have a wonderful day!
